چکیده
Abstract Background: This study was conducted to assess the dosimetric impact of FFF beam plans on high-grade brain neoplasms using VMAT technique when compared with FF plans. Material and Methods: Thirty patients neoplasms, who had received radiotherapy retrospectively were selected for this study. All planned 6MV_FF same plan re-optimized 6MV_FFF keeping dose constraint. Radiotherapy distribution planning target volume (PTV) organs at risk (OAR), conformity index (CI), Homogeneity Index (HI), Low in patient (V 5 , V 10 20 30 ), Integral whole body both compared. Results: The PTV coverage OAR’s showed no significant differences between planning. There a reduction average maximum right eye, left optic nerve, nerve beams. low observed Mean Dose. Also, integral beam. Conclusions: Using beams is doable treatment delivery mode may yield similar results which should be confirmed large scale prospective clinical trial.

Comparison of VMAT‐SABR treatment plans with flattening filter (FF) and flattening filter‐free (FFF) beam for localized prostate cancer
The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of using a flattening filter-free (FFF) beam with an endorectal balloon for stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) of clinically localized prostate cancer. We assessed plans of SABR with volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) that used a flattening filter (FF) beam and an FFF beam and compared the verification results of dosim...
متن کاملDosimetric Characteristics of Transparent Bolus for External Beam Radiotherapy
Introduction: In radiotherapy, the bolus is often used while treating the tumor under the uneven surfaces of the patients for correcting the anatomical irregularities and increasing skin dose. Wet cotton and wet gauze are still used in developing countries, since the use of wet cotton and wet gauze has certain disadvantages, there is a need for transparent bolus which ...
متن کاملDosimetric influence of Flattening Filter (FF) and Flattening Filter Free (FFF) 6 and 10 MV photon beams on Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) planning in case of prostate carcinoma
Background: In the treatment of prostate cancer, radiotherapy is the potential to increase second primary cancers such as bladder and rectal cancers. The reasons for this potential are more monitor units (MUs), therefore a larger total body dose because of leakage radiation, a bigger volume of normal tissue is exposed to lower radiation doses. This study was designed to compare the integral dos...
متن کاملPlanning Study of Flattening Filter Free Beams for Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Scalp
PURPOSE Flattening filter free (FFF) beams show the potential for a higher dose rate and lower peripheral dose. We investigated the planning study of FFF beams with their role for volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in squamous cell carcinoma of the scalp. METHODS AND MATERIALS One patient with squamous cell carcinoma which had involvement of entire scalp was subjected to VMAT using TrueB...
